You can hire a DJ for a birthday, an anniversary, a graduation, a house party or a yacht party anywhere in Singapore. The DJ brings sound and lights that fit the space, takes requests and keeps the floor busy for the hours you book. Tell us the date, the place and the guest count and you get the DJs who are free.
Price: a DJ with their own sound system for up to 100 to 150 guests usually costs SGD 500 to 1,000 for a 3 to 4 hour party. See how much a DJ costs in Singapore.
Birthdays and milestone parties
For a 21st, a 30th, a 50th or an anniversary, the DJ plays easy music while guests arrive and eat, stops for the cake cutting or the toast, then turns the party into a dance floor. Tell the DJ the songs that mean something to the birthday person, and the ones to avoid. A birthday announcement or a short toast can be timed with the music.
House parties, villas and function rooms
DJs play private homes and villas, condo function rooms, restaurants, rooftop bars and garden venues. In a smaller room the DJ sets up a compact system so the music stays clear without being too loud for neighbours. Ask your condo or venue three things before you book: the latest time for music, any volume limit, and where the DJ can plug in.
Yacht parties
A DJ on a yacht plays for a sunset cruise, a birthday on the water or a night party. The DJ can also be the MC for a toast or an announcement, and sound and lighting can be set up on board. Boats have little space and limited power, so send the yacht's name or size with your enquiry. The DJ then brings a setup that fits the deck.
The music
Party DJs mix Top 40, pop, R&B, hip-hop, EDM and house, with 70s, 80s and 90s classics for the older guests, and Bollywood, K-pop or Latin when the crowd wants them. A DJ reads the room and changes direction in seconds, which a fixed playlist cannot do. Name your guests' favourite styles in the brief.
Add something live
A saxophonist can play over the DJ set at the peak of the night, which works well on a rooftop or a yacht. See DJ with live sax or violin. If you want a female DJ, ask for one. See female DJ in Singapore.
How to book a party DJ
Send the date, the start and end time, the place, the guest count and the music you like on WhatsApp or through the quote form. Book at least 2 to 4 weeks ahead, and earlier for December and Chinese New Year parties. Last-minute requests within 48 hours are sometimes possible, depending on who is free.
